His six-second clips quickly garnered millions of views, turning him into an internet sensation and paving the way for a successful music career with hits like “Stitches” and “Señorita.” Today, the Canadian singer-songwriter has continued to captivate audiences with his soulful voice and introspective lyrics.

Shawn Mendes was born on August 8, 1998, making him 20 years old, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Shawn rose to fame singing a cover of Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” on the new-defunct social media app Vine. Shawn was part of the MAGCON tour – the Meet and Greet Convention – along with other big-name Viners at the time such as Cameron Dallas and Nash Grier. Shawn’s first album, “Handwritten,” dropped in 2015. His second album, “Illuminate,” was released in 2016, and his third album, his self-titled album, was released in 2018. Shawn toured on Jingle Ball in 2014, 2015, and 2018. The star is friends with Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift, and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
