Okay, so let's just jump right into it here, um.

What I wanted to do is remove this factory bench and I wanted to install you know like factory buckets, but I don't know if you've priced out factory buckets for these things, lately they're kind of prohibitive in price um.

I can't afford it anyway, so I went on amazon and uh took a look and I found some some seats from bestop they're.

I don't know a couple hundred bucks or something like that, even less, if you're in the states buying with real money um, but they don't come with any, you know adjusters or risers or seat tracks, or anything like that.

So I I went and did what I did with the panel truck and I went to the auto records and I got myself some some risers with the built-in uh sliders out of a safari van or an astro van uh.

You know late 80s, 90s kind of style, I'll I'll show you here right away, I'm just going to get this cleaned out a bit and then I'll grab the risers I'll put them in there and maybe I'll grab the seats and put them in there as well as long as they don't get side tracked.

Um.

Okay, keep your finger out of your mouth now, because it's filthy, I don't know what you're looking at, probably looking at the date on how gross um okay anyway, um.

I'm gonna put this on fast forward and we'll get into making that seat riser.

Okay, so we got the bench out.

Obviously it's layman's floor.

This is the bracket from the safari or astroman, so the ticket with this is it lays flat and you can see actually fits in here pretty good.

This is, I believe, it's all the way forward right now, so I do have some adjustment to go back.

I'm gonna end up.

I don't know where my seat will be.

I guess we'll find out soon enough, but currently that's where we sit there.

Maybe I'll grab a tape measure and we'll take some measurements.

Uh hang tight I'll go crazy, so the overall base height these things is eight inches it's at the front and then at the back.

She slopes down to.

Ah, what is that like seven and a quarter baby so, which is which is normal right? You'd want to slope back a little bit a little tilt in your seat.

Will that work with the seats I got set up? I don't know we're gonna find out um, but for right now I'm pretty excited.

I was, I wasn't sure if this was gonna fit in behind here or not, but it does.

These are the same bases I used on the uh 60 to 66 panel truck as well, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the pickups.

So you want to get your self your safari astro van kind of kind of seat deals here.

I think it's gonna work um.

I think I'll leave it right there for now.

Maybe I'll go grab a seat and we'll see how she how she lays out all right.

Okay.

So that's where it sits with the uh seat in it give you some more dimensions here.

So between the seat and the steering wheel.

We got what four and three quarters of an inch um I'll hop in there and give you an idea what it looks like with a human in there.

Okay, so I am six foot about 230 pounds.

This is me in here steering wheel, the factory original wheel.

There's some room: it's not a lot.

I guess, as I come up with the clutch a little bit of touching there, it's definitely workable um your head room about two inches above my head.

What's that uh five centimeters, so that's! Okay, that's doable! It does sit a little higher than the original bench, but I think I like it um.

It might be better if it was about an inch shorter.

I don't think I'd go any lower than that.

Maybe a couple inches if you're a taller guy.

So I don't know if you're, six foot or shorter I'd say: that's a good, that's a good look.

This has to be, of course, down all the rest of it, but I don't know tell me your thoughts on it.

Ah again, this is uh a best buy seat, buy these on amazon all day long, uh, really 100 and some dollars each and then, like I say the base come out of the auto wreckers.

I think I paid ten dollars a piece for the bases and the bases they do have uh the seat track on them right, so just kind of figure out where you want to put this, I'm gonna mount it to the back I'll slide, my mounts to the front and then I'll mount my seat accordingly, so that I can.

I can always move it forward.

It won't go much further back but I'll go, but I don't need it too clear gas tank right, we'll move it forward.

I'm I'm pretty good with this, not bad at all.

I'm a fan, I wasn't sure if it was going to work out or if I was going to ship these back or put them up for sale.

I'm going to throw these in I'm going to put a blazer console in here and I think it's going to be a win, but for now that'll just give you guys an idea of what's going to happen so safari or astrovan.

I don't know late 80s to early 2000s, maybe and then best buy bucket seat.

They they say it's for a jeep but and I'm just going to bolt it on there.

I don't care what they say.

It's for and then I'll bolt it down to my floor and everything will be cool, gives me lots of room.

I really like the look.

Um we're gonna go with the black carpet in here.

We're gonna go with a black console in here, uh late, 60s, early, 70s console and then another bucket seat.

Of course, there's no sense me bolting this in right now, because, as you can see, I had some work to do on the floor and the rockers.

So I'm going to be doing some cutting and grinding and all the rest of it in here.

I just thought you guys might be interested in seeing what the plan was and that's it alright.

So there you go a lit just a little short little video and give you a prelude of what's coming down the road.

I think these bases are great for virtually virtually anything you're going to throw them in to be honest, um and there's the top of that roof.

That's how she turned out.

Still lots of glare looks brand new.

I know modern, eight anyway, um that'll do it for another.

One um hope you like it.

You know, I think I'll think about it and I'll be back with another one.

Pretty quick here in the meantime, I think I'll throw this seat back in just so.

I can move this thing in and out um.

I'm gonna call that a win for now, I'm pretty excited about receipts.

I wasn't too sure how they'd fit, but I like it all right next, one thanks guys.
